Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Data Entry Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong typing skills, proficiency in MS Office, and a good understanding of data accuracy and confidentiality. Knowledge of Tally will be considered an added advantage, especially for candidates looking to grow into an accounting support role.
You will be responsible for entering, updating, and managing data in spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software. Your role is critical to the smooth and accurate operation of business documentation and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Entry & Record Management

Accurately input and update information into spreadsheets, databases, or software tools.

Maintain and organize digital and physical records in a structured manner.

Regularly review, verify, and correct data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
2. Use of MS Office Tools
-
Create and manage Excel spreadsheets, including formulas, charts, and formatting.

Prepare and format Word documents, reports, letters, or forms.
-
Use MS Outlook for basic internal communication and calendar coordination.

Generate simple PowerPoint presentations, if needed.
3. Accounting Support (If Trained in Tally)
-
Enter vouchers, sales/purchase entries, and receipts into Tally ERP9 / Tally Prime.

Assist the accounts team with basic bookkeeping tasks under supervision.

Generate Tally reports such as ledger statements, balance sheets, etc.
-
Perform basic GST entry support (if trained and required).
4. Data Verification & Quality Control

Ensure all entered data matches source documents and follows internal formatting guidelines.

Conduct routine checks to identify data duplication or inconsistencies.

Flag errors or discrepancies to supervisors or concerned departments.
5. Documentation & Filing

Assist with organizing office documents both digitally and physically.

Label, categorize, and archive files systematically.

Ensure confidential documents are stored securely.
6. Coordination & Reporting
-
Work with admin, sales, accounts, or operations teams to update required reports.

Share daily/weekly updates of data entry progress.

Support report generation for internal analysis or client reporting.
Required Skills
-
Typing Speed: Minimum 35–45 words per minute with high accuracy

MS Office Proficiency:

Excel: Basic to intermediate skills (VLOOKUP, filters, formatting, etc.)

Word: Typing, formatting, templates

Outlook: Basic email usage

Tally Knowledge (Added Advantage):

Data entry, voucher posting, ledger creation

GST and invoice handling basics (optional)

Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and maintain high accuracy

Confidentiality: Maintain privacy of sensitive records and client data

Time Management: Ability to meet data entry deadlines daily/weekly
