Your Role and Responsibilities
This role will primarily revolve around data base/ Netezza which is part of the larger AI Ladder.
Role will demand to work with multiple stakeholders across IBM as well as other organizations. Based on the market demands & priority, role would demand you to work across different projects, time zones, teams etc

- Assist customer with planning and implementing database changes as well as query/job optimization
- Create, test, implement and monitor an automated set of procedures for database and server backups as well as necessary maintenance procedures
- Work closely with IBM support to manage hardware/software failures, appliance upgrades and install patches if required.
- Troubleshoots difficult database problems, including slow running queries/appliance.
- Participate in after-hours on-call duties as requested
- Manage workload via prioritization and configuration
- Solid understanding the Linux and basic OS concepts, OS commands, shell scripting, scheduling a job is must.
- Perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance on Netezza appliance platform
- Use the nzmigrate, nzbackup and nzrestore tool for recovery and maintenance including sort, genstats and groom.
- Works closely with Developers, Testers, Architects, Business Analysts and other IT staff to implement Database Administration standards, policies, methods, and procedures building consensus with all parties
- Well versed with installation of SQL Extension Toolkit, INZA Packages etc.
- Knowledge on installing and configuring query history database and fluid query is must.
- Experience with query performance tuning on Netezza is required.
- 5 to 12 years of Work experience
- Exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering under tight time constraints
- Experience with troubleshooting internal or external customer environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
- Demonstrates verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Creative approach to problem solving, innovation and issue resolution
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional team
