Job Summary
A Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for contacting clients with overdue payments, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring the recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships. Key Responsibilities
1. Debt Collection & Follow-Up:
- Contact customers via phone, email, or in person to recover outstanding debts.
- Send reminders, notices, and legal warnings to delinquent account holders.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment commitments.
2. Negotiation & Repayment Plans:
- Assess customers' financial situations and propose feasible repayment solutions.
- Negotiate settlement agreements while adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
- Work with legal teams when necessary for escalated recovery cases.
3. Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with debt collection laws and financial regulations.
- Prepare reports on outstanding debts, recovery rates, and payment agreements.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling customer information.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
- Handle disputes, complaints, and inquiries related to outstanding payments.
- Educate customers on payment options and financial responsibilities.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach in all interactions.
5. Coordination with Internal Teams:
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and customer service teams for seamless debt recovery.
- Provide insights on risk assessment and credit control improvements.
