The job requires responsibility, punctuality, good communication, and basic technical skills to handle delivery apps and GPS-enabled devices. Delivery agents are often the “face of the company” as they are the only direct human interaction many customers have with an e-commerce platform.
Key Responsibilities

Package Pickup and Handling

Collect parcels from warehouses, distribution centers, or local hubs.

Handle packages carefully to avoid damage during transportation.

Verify parcel details such as order number, customer name, and address before dispatch.

Delivery of Orders

Deliver products to customers across assigned routes within the scheduled time.

Ensure timely delivery while following traffic rules and safety measures.

Obtain proof of delivery (signature, OTP, or digital confirmation via mobile app).

Customer Interaction

Communicate politely and professionally with customers during delivery.

Answer basic customer queries about orders, return pick-ups, or replacements.

Handle cash-on-delivery (COD) payments securely and provide receipts when required.

Returns and Reverse Logistics

Collect return packages or replacement items as per company guidelines.

Ensure that returns are recorded properly in the system and handed over to the warehouse.

Use delivery apps or handheld devices provided by e-commerce companies to track and update delivery status.

Follow GPS-enabled maps for efficient routing and navigation.

Update order details in real time after successful delivery or failed attempt.

Report any issues such as incorrect addresses, damaged products, or unsuccessful deliveries to the supervisor.

Submit daily reports on the number of deliveries completed and pending.
