Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery Operations
-
Collect parcels, packages, or food orders from the designated pickup location (store, warehouse, restaurant, etc.).

Deliver items to the correct addresses within the assigned area, ensuring timely and safe transportation.

Follow the delivery schedule provided by the supervisor or delivery app and manage time efficiently.

Verify the recipient’s details before handing over the package and ensure the delivery is acknowledged through a signature or mobile confirmation.
2. Route and Navigation
-
Plan the most efficient routes to reach customer addresses while avoiding delays due to traffic or road conditions.

Use mobile navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps) or delivery management systems to locate delivery addresses.

Maintain awareness of local streets and routes to improve speed and accuracy of deliveries.
3. Customer Interaction
-
Interact with customers in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner during deliveries.
-
Answer any basic questions customers may have regarding the delivery process.

Handle customer concerns politely and report any complaints or issues to the supervisor.
4. Order Verification
-
Check that all items for delivery are correctly packed, labeled, and match the order requirements.

Ensure fragile, hot, or perishable items are handled with care and in compliance with company standards.

Report missing, damaged, or incorrect orders to the store or logistics manager immediately.
5. Cash Handling (If Applicable)
-
Collect cash payments from customers in cases of Cash on Delivery (COD) orders.

Count money accurately and issue receipts if required.

Safely deposit collected cash with the authorized person or team at the end of the shift.
6. Safety and Maintenance
-
Operate the delivery vehicle (bike, scooter, cycle, or van) safely and responsibly.

Follow all road safety rules and company policies regarding transportation and customer service.

Maintain the delivery vehicle in good condition by refueling, cleaning, and reporting maintenance issues.
-
Wear the required uniform and safety gear (helmet, gloves, etc.) as per company policy.
7. Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain daily logs of deliveries completed, time taken, and any incidents during the shift.

Update order status in the delivery app or management system as instructed.

Inform the supervisor in case of delays, cancellations, or failed delivery attempts.
