An Delivery Boy is responsible for picking up food orders from restaurants and delivering them promptly and safely to customers’ homes or offices. This role is critical to ensuring a positive customer experience in the fast-growing food delivery industry. The Delivery Boy represents the face of the company during every customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Pickup:

Reach the assigned restaurant or food outlet as per the app notification or job schedule.

Confirm the order number and verify the items with restaurant staff to ensure order accuracy.

Ensure that food is packed properly and safely before transporting it to the customer.
2. Order Delivery:

Use the GPS system or app-based map to navigate to the customer’s location.

Deliver the food promptly and courteously to the customer.

Confirm the delivery by updating the app or collecting a signature or OTP (One-Time Password) if required.
3. Customer Interaction:

Greet customers politely and maintain a respectful and professional attitude.

Answer basic questions or concerns related to the order or app (e.g., delayed delivery, missing items) and escalate to support if needed.

Follow customer instructions regarding contactless delivery or special drop-off locations.
4. Cash and Online Payments:

Accept cash payments where applicable and ensure correct change is returned.

Verify digital payments through the delivery app or payment receipt.

Reconcile collected payments and submit them as per the company’s process.
5. Use of Mobile App:

Regularly check the app for new delivery tasks, location updates, and notifications.

Update the delivery status in real-time: picked up, en route, delivered, etc.

Report issues such as traffic delays, customer unavailability, or wrong addresses using the app.
6. Time Management:

Follow the optimized delivery route suggested by the app or GPS.

Manage multiple orders efficiently and deliver within the promised time window.

Avoid unnecessary delays to maximize deliveries and earnings.
7. Vehicle Maintenance:

Ensure that the delivery vehicle (bike, scooter, cycle) is in good working condition.

Refuel as needed and report any mechanical issues.

Keep delivery bags clean, hygienic, and properly sealed to avoid food spillage or contamination.
8. Adherence to Safety and Hygiene Standards:

Wear the company’s uniform and identity badge, if provided.
