Job Description
Introduction
A Delivery Boy plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of goods, parcels, food items, grocery products, or any other ordered items from the seller to the customer.
The role requires good time management, customer interaction skills, and responsibility to handle products safely and deliver them accurately. A delivery boy acts as the face of the company, representing its brand, service quality, and customer satisfaction. Insurance coverage provided.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pickup & Delivery Operations

Collect parcels, food items, grocery products, or packages from the company’s store, warehouse, or vendor location.

Deliver items safely and on time to customers’ homes, offices, or other designated locations.

Handle Cash on Delivery (COD) transactions accurately and maintain records of received payments.

Ensure all deliveries are complete, accurate, and in proper condition.
2. Route & Time Management
-
Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to save time and fuel.

Utilize Google Maps, GPS, or company delivery apps for accurate navigation.

Deliver items within the committed timelines to maintain customer satisfaction.

Adjust delivery schedules based on traffic, weather, or urgent requirements.
3. Package Handling & Safety

Carefully handle fragile, perishable, or high-value products to avoid damage.

Follow company guidelines on handling special delivery items, such as electronics, medicines, or food.

Ensure vehicles, delivery boxes, or bags are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
4. Customer Service & Interaction
-
Politely greet customers and deliver items with a professional attitude.

Handle customer queries regarding order status, delivery time, or product issues.
-
Obtain signatures, OTP verification, or digital acknowledgments where required.

Provide feedback to the company about customer complaints or service improvement needs.
5. Payment & Documentation Management

Collect payments for cash-on-delivery orders and deposit them with the company daily.

Maintain accurate logs of completed deliveries, pending deliveries, and payment details.

Submit invoices, receipts, or other documents to the concerned department.
6. Coordination & Reporting

Stay in constant touch with the dispatch team or delivery supervisor.

Report any delivery issues, route problems, or payment discrepancies immediately.

Update delivery status using mobile apps, barcode scanners, or reporting systems.

Follow company policies regarding delivery schedules, attendance, and performance.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical Skills

2. Driving & Navigation Skills

Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving license (depending on the job requirement).

Educational Qualifications
