Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Fiber Rollout & OSP Management
- Act as the OSP anchor for regional fiber rollout projects, including intercity backbone routes.
- Drive end-to-end execution of fiber rollout activities in coordination with field and project teams.
- Monitor route progress and ensure timely completion as per project timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve field-level execution challenges.
2. Link Engineering & BOQ Validation
- Review and validate Link Engineering Plans and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) in coordination with field teams.
- Ensure accurate material planning and availability at project sites.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in engineering plans, BOQs, and actual site requirements.
- Minimize material-related delays and execution gaps during project implementation.
3. Vendor & Partner Management
- Coordinate with and manage third-party vendors, contractors, and execution partners.
- Monitor vendor performance against defined project timelines, quality standards, and deliverables.
- Track last-mile nodes, tower connectivity, and other network deployment activities.
- Ensure adherence to internal quality, safety, and execution guidelines.
- Escalate and resolve vendor-related issues impacting project timelines.
4. Network Integration & Capacity Planning
- Support the deployment and integration of high-capacity core transport networks.
- Prioritize network rings, subnets, and connectivity requirements based on bandwidth demand.
- Ensure network readiness to support 4G/5G mobile networks and enterprise connectivity requirements.
- Coordinate with planning and operations teams for smooth network integration and handover.
5. Field Survey & Network Documentation
- Coordinate and conduct field surveys for new fiber routes, nodes, and network requirements.
- Prepare and validate Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and KML/network design files.
- Ensure network designs accurately reflect field conditions and planned connectivity.
- Maintain proper documentation and share required designs with the central planning team.
6. Testing, Quality Assurance & Handover
- Drive fiber testing and stability verification activities before network handover.
- Perform/coordinate fiber loss validation and LSPM (Laser Source Power Meter) testing.
- Ensure fiber routes meet defined technical and quality parameters.
- Identify and rectify connectivity, attenuation, and performance-related issues.
- Ensure successful handover of completed routes to the Network Operations/Active Operations team.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Fiber Optics, OSP and Fiber Network Rollout.
- Experience in Fiber Link Engineering and BOQ preparation/validation.
- Knowledge of FTTH/Backbone/Intercity Fiber Networks.
- Understanding of 4G/5G transport and transmission networks.
- Hands-on knowledge of LSPM, OTDR and fiber loss testing.
- Knowledge of KML, SLD and network route documentation.
- Strong vendor and contractor management skills.
- Good understanding of field survey and fiber route planning.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in telecom fiber rollout, OSP, transmission, or network deployment.
- Experience working with telecom operators, infrastructure companies, or network implementation partners will be preferred.
- Candidates with experience in managing large-scale fiber rollout projects and multiple vendors/contractors will be an added advantage.
