Deputy Manager / Manager - Plant Projects (Electrical)

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Review & Development of Basic Electrical Design Requirement and control document along with Engineering Contractors.
- Carrying out or reviewing equipment sizing calculations & specification of major & long lead equipment (with list of qualifying assumptions).
- Review Vendor Offers, Conducting Bid Clarification with Vendor and technical recommendations.
- Review & Development of engineering inputs to Vendor like Database, Resistivity report, Plant existing philosophy including Layout, Equipment selection, Control Philosophy.
- Coordination with Vendor(s) for Material Execution Plan, follow-up, Site visit to shop floor, Inspection and dispatch clearance for timely delivery of Materials at Site.
- Installation and commissioning of Low, Medium, and High voltage electrical systems, HT & LT motors, HV & MV VFD’s, Emergency Diesel Generators, Grounding systems, Power and Distribution transformers, Electrical panels (HV & MV), Substations, Protection Relays, Distribution System Cabling, Lighting, Earthing and Lightning System, AC UPS, Battery and Battery Chargers, Cathodic Protection System. Electric Heat Tracing Systems, Electrical Heaters, Fast Bus Transfer Schemes, Hazardous Area Electrical Equipment.
- Knowledge of Hazardous Area Classifications and Engineering, Installation and Operational Practices for Electrical Equipment that are to be used in these locations.
- Generating / Reviewing Relay Protection settings and Coordination Studies.
- Generating / Reviewing Schematic Diagrams and Understanding how to read ILDs & P&IDs in conjunction with the Schematics.
- Understand and Utilization of Communication Protocols and their Design.
- Has knowledge of Commissioning tests that are to be carried out for all electrical equipment.
- Has knowledge of Electrical QA / QC Packs & Final Hand Over Packages
- Should be familiar with applicable codes and standards.
- Assist in Technology Selection, Vendor Selection & Screening.
Knowledge:
- It is desired that the candidate possesses commercial acumen in carrying out the following:
- Generate Scope of Work for Contracts (Special Conditions of Contracts)
- Generate RFQ Documents;
- Carry out Technical Bid Evaluations;
- Generate Technical Queries and evaluate their answers from vendors,
- Carry out or participate in Pre Bid Meetings;
- Contract Management and Adjudication;
- Measurement and Bill Processing.
It is desired that the candidate possesses working level knowledge of the following regulations
- Knowledge of Electricity Acts, Rules and Grid Codes;
- Knowledge of Environmental Emissions Acts and Rules (preferable)
- Knowledge of Effluent Treatment Norms and Statutes (preferable)
