Job Description

We are Hiring Design Engineer - AutoCAD / SolidWorks / CATIA / Inventor with the experience from 06 months to 12 years for our multiple projects and the clients for Bangalore location. The Design Engineer will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, modifying, and optimizing 2D and 3D models for mechanical, industrial, or product-based projects.

This role is vital in transforming ideas and requirements into practical engineering designs while ensuring accuracy, functionality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. The Design Engineer works closely with project managers, manufacturing teams, and clients to deliver high-quality designs that support production, development, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design & Drafting

    • Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Inventor.

    • Develop assembly drawings, exploded views, and detailed part drawings.

    • Ensure accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.

  2. Conceptualization & Development

    • Work with project teams to translate design concepts and requirements into working models.

    • Develop prototypes, simulation models, and virtual assemblies.

    • Suggest design improvements for performance, manufacturability, and cost reduction.

  3. Product & Component Design

    • Design mechanical components, sheet metal parts, plastic components, jigs, fixtures, or tooling.

    • Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate design options.

    • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and documentation for manufacturing.

  4. Simulation & Analysis

    • Perform stress analysis, motion studies, and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) using CAD tools.

    • Ensure that designs meet strength, durability, and performance standards.

    • Recommend design modifications based on test results and simulations.

  5. Collaboration & Coordination

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for material selection and design validation.

    • Support project managers in meeting deadlines and client requirements.

  6. Documentation & Compliance

    • Maintain up-to-date records of design files, revisions, and project data.

    • Ensure compliance with international design standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, etc.).

    • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design justifications.

  7. Continuous Improvement

    • Stay updated with the latest CAD software features and design methodologies.

    • Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve design quality.

    • Contribute ideas to product innovation and optimization.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in CAD Software: Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor.

  • Mechanical Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of machine design, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to perform design analysis, FEA, and simulation studies.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, molding, sheet metal, and fabrication.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce accurate designs with zero errors.

  • Problem-Solving: Innovative mindset to provide efficient and cost-effective design solutions.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with engineers, production teams, and clients.

  • Time Management: Capability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
