Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative products and solutions by transforming concepts into functional, manufacturable designs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including research and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and cost targets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering principles, proficiency with CAD software, and experience in product design or process improvement. Your creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities will be essential in delivering designs that align with business goals and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Design and Development:

Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications for new products or enhancements using tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.

Translate conceptual sketches and ideas into precise engineering drawings that can be used for prototyping and manufacturing.

Collaborate with R&D to understand product requirements, materials, and functional constraints.

Perform design calculations and simulations to validate structural integrity, thermal performance, or fluid dynamics as required.

Iterate designs based on testing feedback, manufacturability, and cost considerations.
2. Prototyping and Testing Support:

Support prototype development by coordinating with workshop teams or external vendors.

Assist in assembling and testing prototypes to ensure design feasibility and performance.

Analyze test results and recommend design modifications or improvements.

Address design-related issues arising during prototype or production phases.
3. Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for production efficiency, cost, and quality.

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components.

Communicate design concepts and technical details effectively to engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Prepare clear documentation including design reports, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions.
4. Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Participate in design reviews and audits to maintain quality and consistency.

Keep up to date with emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in design engineering.
5. Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for product and process improvements to enhance performance, reduce costs, or shorten development cycles.

Implement design changes based on customer feedback and market trends.

Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the engineering team.
