Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Development
-
Prepare detailed design drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Revit, or similar tools
-
Design components, assemblies, and systems based on customer specifications or internal requirements
-
Modify existing designs to improve functionality, manufacturability, or cost-efficiency
-
Conduct feasibility studies for design concepts and analyze tolerance, material selection, and stress points
2. Technical Documentation
-
Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, exploded views, and detailed part drawings
-
Maintain comprehensive design files, version control, and documentation standards
-
Prepare and update technical reports, design justifications, and test documentation
-
Assist in developing design process workflows and project tracking documents
3. Design Validation and Testing
-
Collaborate with testing and quality assurance teams to validate design performance
-
Support prototype fabrication and testing, including fit, form, and function assessments
-
Perform FEA simulations (if applicable) to ensure structural or thermal integrity
-
Incorporate testing results and user feedback into design refinement
4. Cross-Departmental Coordination
-
Work closely with production, procurement, quality, and assembly departments to ensure design alignment
-
Assist suppliers and vendors with design-related queries, especially during new component development
-
Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to improve design efficiency
-
Attend project meetings and provide technical input on timelines and resource planning
5. Compliance & Standards
-
Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, certifications, and safety regulations (e.g., ISO, BIS, ASTM, ASME, etc.)

Support audits and customer inspections with technical clarifications and documentation
-
Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in design and engineering
Required Skills and Competencies:
-
Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals relevant to your field (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Product)

Proficiency in CAD tools: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, Creo, etc.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics
-
Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, welding, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.

Problem-solving skills and ability to translate concepts into practical designs

Time management and multitasking capabilities

Good communication skills for inter-departmental coordination
-
Familiarity with FEA, CFD, or simulation tools is a plus (not mandatory for freshers)
