Job Description
Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and creative Design Engineer UG (Undergraduate Level) to join our design and development team. This is an ideal role for fresh engineering graduates who are passionate about mechanical or product design and want to build a strong foundation in the field.
As a Design Engineer, you will assist in creating 2D and 3D models of components, machines, or systems, using CAD software. You will be involved in the design lifecycle from conceptual sketches to detailed drawings, design reviews, and documentation. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, project teams, and manufacturing departments to convert technical ideas into functional products and systems.
This is a learning-oriented position with great exposure to real-world design challenges, offering the opportunity to grow into a full-fledged engineering role with increasing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CAD Design and Drafting:

Develop 2D and 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.

Assist in preparing technical drawings, exploded views, and bill of materials (BOMs).

Revise and update existing designs under the supervision of senior engineers.

Ensure design files are well organized, named, and archived as per department protocols.
2. Design Support and Research:

Assist senior engineers in concept development and feasibility studies.

Research components, materials, and technologies to support design choices.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to design discussions.

Analyze sample components or competitor products and suggest improvements or alternatives.
3. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

Work with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.

Communicate design intentions and requirements to vendors or internal departments.

Attend internal meetings and design reviews to understand design goals and project updates.

Support the prototyping process by coordinating with workshop or external fabrication teams.
4. Documentation and Quality Compliance:

Maintain engineering records such as drawings, design change notes, test reports, and specifications.

Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards relevant to the project or industry.

Assist in preparing assembly instructions and technical manuals.

Follow internal procedures and maintain traceability for design revisions.
5. Learning and Development:

Stay updated on the latest CAD tools, design standards, and industry best practices.

Take initiative to learn from senior team members, training programs, and hands-on experience.

Continuously improve personal design skills, technical knowledge, and understanding of engineering concepts.

Participate in training sessions or design seminars offered by the company.
