Job Title: Tech Lead – Coupa
Job Description
The Tech Lead - Coupa drives the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of the organization's Coupa platform, leading a team of developers, admins, and analysts. You'll architect enterprise-grade solutions integrating AI/ML for intelligent procurement, optimize source-to-pay processes, and ensure 99.9% uptime/SLAs. Partnering with IT leadership, procurement execs, and vendors, you'll scale Coupa amid business growth, innovate with emerging tech, and mentor talent to deliver strategic value.
Key Responsibilities
Architect end-to-end Coupa solutions: Design scalable configurations, multi-module integrations (e.g., ERP, CRM, PLM), and AI/ML pipelines (e.g., predictive sourcing via Coupa ML APIs, SageMaker).
Lead code reviews, custom development (e.g., APIs, webhooks, bots), and low-code automations; enforce best practices for security, scalability, and compliance.
Oversee system health: Performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and upgrades; achieve SLAs through proactive AI-driven alerting. Evaluate and integrate emerging tech (e.g., GenAI for RFP analysis, blockchain for supplier traceability).
Manage a cross-functional Coupa team (5-10 members): Hire, mentor, conduct performance reviews, and foster skill growth in AI/ML, DevOps, and agile practices.
Prioritize backlog, lead sprints/standups using Jira/Confluence, and deliver projects on time/budget (e.g., implementations, migrations). Collaborate with enterprise architecture for hybrid/multi-cloud strategies and governance.
Champion AI/ML integrations: Deploy models for spend forecasting, supplier risk scoring, contract intelligence, and autonomous workflows.
Build advanced analytics platforms: Custom RQL/SQL dashboards, ML-powered BI (Power BI/Tableau), and real-time insights for exec decision-making.
Pilot innovations like NLP for requisition processing or computer vision for invoice validation. Advise C-suite/procurement leaders on Coupa roadmap, ROI modeling, and tech-enabled transformations (e.g., zero-touch procurement).
Drive governance: Policy enforcement, audit readiness (SOX/GDPR), and cross-team change management. Partner with suppliers/vendors for ecosystem integrations and co-innovation.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's/master’s in computer science, Engineering, or related; certifications (e.g., Coupa Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, Google ML Engineer) essential.
7+ years in Coupa/e-procurement tech roles, with 3+ years leading teams/projects; deep AI/ML experience required.
Expert technical stack: Coupa APIs/RQL, Python/JS/Node.js, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
Proven leadership: Agile/Scrum mastery, team building, budget management; biotech/healthcare domain knowledge a strong plus.
Strategic influencer: Executive communication, vendor negotiation, ambiguity navigation in fast-paced settings.
Soft skills: Mentorship, innovation mindset, handling sensitive data/IP with integrity.
