Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to continually grow your skills in key technologies such as Kubernetes, Ansible and Jenkins, while working in a supportive, collaborative and fun environment. Your tasks will include:
- Developing operators using Ansible and the Operator SDK to automate and manage the deployment of open source databases
- Writing pipelines to build, package, deploy, and test Kubernetes operators using Jenkins and scripting languages such as Bash and Python
- Testing database connectivity and integration between Cloud Pak for Data applications and open source databases, identifying bugs, and troubleshooting their root causes
- Planning and implementing deployments of containerized software running on Kubernetes while incorporating security, network, and data encryption requirements and policies
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 3 years of software development experience
- Experience with software container technology – Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience with Dev Ops tools such as Ansible and Jenkins
- Experience with relational and non relational databases
- Experience with scripting - e.g. Python/Perl, Bash, etc
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across squads in a fast-paced development environment
