Job Description
- To explain the patient about the procedure and get their consent.
- To prime the dialyser and blood tubing by passing the normal saline using the machine.
- To connect the dialysis concentrate to get the conductivity.
- To self test the safety condition of the machine after stabilized and record it
- To check pre-dialysis weight, blood pressure (standing lying) and temperature and record it in dialysis flow chart.
- To start the dialysis as per the doctor s orders. Collect blood samples and send samples as per the doctor s orders.
- To fill the dialysis flow chart and checklist.
- To check hourly or half hourly BP and other parameters of the machine. Record in observation book.
- To take corrective actions in case of abnormal condition is noted, in consultation with the registrar/resident.
- To terminate the dialysis after prescribed time, by returning the blood to the patient.
- To check the dialyser and blood tubing are washed, sterilized and stored.
- To check the post Hemo Dialysis (HD) temperature, BP lying and standing weight and record it in dialysis flow chart.
- To send blood investigations as per the doctor s advice and record for the regular HD patient.
- To collect the bill and enter in the file and billing register.
- To check routine machine maintenance is done on every Sundays and dialysis samples of the machines are sent to Bio chemistry lab to check the electrolytes.
- To ensure that the machines are serviced by biomedical and company person (If the equipment is under contract) as per the schedule.
- To take part in studies of Apollo Clinical Excellence (ACE) model for clinical excellent in dialysis.
- To monitor the sterility of the dialysis area by sending once a month culture fumigation.
- To monitor and maintain the sterility of the pipelines by monthly once formalization.
- To participate and contribute to department quality initiatives.
- To be aware of department performance and objective.
- To carryout data collection / support in data collection.
- To adhere to the safety norms of hospital and to follow both patient safety and staff safety measures.
- To perform any job / task assigned by the superiors.
