Research Associate/ JRF Jobs recruitment in Defence Research & Development Organisation (Snow & Avalanche Study Establishment Research & Development Centre)

Project Title

1. DRDO sponsored project entitled 'Instrumented airborne platform for real time snow avalanche and glacier terrain monitoring ([ABP)'.  

2. MoES sponsored project entitled 'Seismic and glacier monitoring in Siachen region through seismic network, multi-sensor satellite imagery and ancillary data'.

Research Associate (RA)

No. of Posts : 02

Qualification : (i) PhD or equivalent degree (in fields of Remote Sensing/GIS/Geomatics). OR (ii) Having 03 years of research, teaching or design and development experience after ME/M.Tech (in Remote Sensing and GIS/Geometrics/Geo informatics/Civil Engg.) with at least one research paper in Science Citation indexed (SCI) Journal.

Desirable : (i) Good working knowledge of different image processing & GIS software (e.g. ERDAS, PCI Geomantic a, LPS, ArcGIS, ENVI, SAR Scape) (ii) Proven Knowledge (in terms of research publication(s) h SCI Journals) (iii) Remote sensing data analysis for terrain, snow avalanche and glacier related info extraction. (W) Aerial and space-borne photogrammetric & Liar data processing and terrain modeling. (v) Knowledge of Multi-sensor data fusion techniques. (vi) Experience of field work, preferably in glacier(s)

Stipend : Rs. 40,000 + HRA 

Age Limit : Maximum 35 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC) 

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Qualification :  (i) Post graduate degree in basic science in first division with NET in the fields of Remote Sensing/GIS/Goeomatics/Geo Informatics/ Earth Science/Physics/ Gladology. OR (ii) ME or M.Tech must division both at graduate and post graduate level in Remote Sensing/GIS/Geomatics/Geo informatics/Civil Engg. 

Desirable : (i) Good working knowledge of different image processing & GIS software (e.g. ERDAS, LPS, ArcGIS, ENVI, SARS cape) (ii) Knowledge of Remote sensing data analysis for snow avalanche and glacier related info extraction and hydrological modeling. (ii) Knowledge of SAR data processing. (is) Knowledge of programming languages, e.g as MatLab, C++, Python. (v) Experience of field work, preferably in glacier(s) (vi) Publications in Journals/Conferences.  

Stipend : Rs. 25,000 + HRA

Age Limit : Maximum 28 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC) 

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No. of Post : 01

Qualification :  (i) Post graduate degree in basic science in first division with NET in the fields of Geophysics/Seismology, Geology. OR (ii) ME or M.Tech in first division both at graduate and post graduate level in Geophysics/ Seismology/ Earthquake Engineering/ Engineering Seismology.  

Desirable : (i) Good working knowledge of seismological data processing and analysis procedures e.g source parameter estimation, Q-value estimation, seismic hazard analysis using PGA value (ii) Good working Knowledge of different software (e.g. SEISAN, ERDAS, ArcGIS) (iii) Knowledge of remote sensing data analysis. (Iv) Knowledge of GPS surveying. (v) Experience of field work, preferably in glacier(s)
