Post: DRI Shift Assistant In-charge
Role and responsibility:
A DRI shift assistant In-charge is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a shift within a DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) plant, ensuring smooth production flow, maintaining quality standards, managing staff, addressing operational issues, and adhering to safety protocols during their assigned shift, all while reporting to the main shift in-charge or plant manager.
Key responsibilities of a DRI shift assistant in-charge include:
Production Monitoring:
Continuously monitor the DRI production process, including furnace temperatures, gas flow, feed material quality, and product quality to identify potential issues and take corrective actions.
Ensure production targets are met regarding output quantity and quality standards.
Adjust operational parameters as needed to optimize production efficiency.
Staff Management:
Assign tasks and responsibilities to the shift crew based on their skills and workload.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new employees.
Monitor employee performance, identify training needs, and address any performance concerns.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations by all staff members.
Quality Control:
Regularly collect and analyze product samples to verify compliance with quality specifications.
Identify and report any quality deviations to the relevant authorities.
Implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
Equipment Maintenance:
Monitor the condition of production equipment and report any malfunctions or potential issues.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
Ensure proper operation and safety of all equipment.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and record relevant production data such as furnace temperatures, gas consumption, and product quality metrics.
Generate shift reports detailing production performance, any issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and suggest operational adjustments.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the shift.
Conduct safety inspections and address any potential hazards immediately.
Investigate safety incidents and implement preventive measures.
Key Skills for a DRI shift assistant in-charge:
Strong understanding of the DRI production process and related equipment
Technical knowledge of furnace operations, gas handling, and quality control procedures
Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team effectively
Analytical skills to interpret production data and identify problems
Excellent communication skills to report issues and coordinate with other departments
Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Qualification: Diploma in any field
Salary: 15k to 18k per month
