Job Description

Applications welcome for qualified and motivated individual with Development Experience in Eagle STAR and PACE, with Knowledge of Java, microservices is good to have.

To join Northern's Investment Accounting & Reporting team.

These individuals as part of an agile development team will participate in the analysis, design, development and support of Eagle Portfolio Accounting System.

Major Duties

Perform analysis of request to determine business requirements by understanding the big picture of the request.
Development of the IWS workflows, Automation center Job, schedule, IWS, PDC, RDC,EBS workflows, Eagle Webservices extracts, Eagle ML etc on v17.
Development of SprintBatch, SpringBoot application on Pivotal Cloud foundary, maintaining the code in Bitbucket, and CI/CD using Bamboo. These are good to have.
Work with business users to understand and define needs above and beyond the immediate requirements provided. Convert business requirements into functional specifications.
Communicate/document any material modifications of the business requirements to business users, management, and the office of project management.
Provide application and production support for the Eagle Portfolio Accounting System.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of system capabilities and functionality, including knowledge of the underlying data model.
Create and maintain proper training materials and other business documentation.
Work with investment operational areas to research and resolve any business issues encountered (e.g corporate actions, accruals, cash or trade reconciliation).
Perform technical analysis and make appropriate technical changes or create technical components to meet business needs
Perform business and technical analysis and development on docket items
Work in agile team environment flexibility, with the focus on collaboration with users to deliver the business outcome.
Work on the interfacing with Systems like Blackrock and Electra

Knowledge/Skills

Candidate must have :

10+ years of experience in the financial services industry supporting buy-side technology or end users of investment systems
10+ years of experience with Eagle STAR and PACE, Preferably v17
1+ years of experience in Java 8, with Spring Batch, Spring Boot, REST API, JMS, Junit, Mockito, CI/CD using Bamboo
Knowledge of Eagle Data Model, Basic Eagle accounting, Accrual processing, Recon
Thorough knowledge in following Eagle modules; IWS, Automation Center, RDC & PDC.
Oracle - writing efficient SQL in stored procedures, function, etc.
Data Warehousing concepts and strong technical skills including an understanding of relational databases and the ability to write SQL queries. Familiarity with development tools such as IBM DataStage
Good understanding of Eagle Star to PACE processing; batch and delta.
Good understanding of the Trade lifecycle.
Worked with HTML/XML - ability to transform data using HTML and XML

Preferred/ Recommended

Knowledge of Corporate Action Processing, Fixed Income, FX and Derivatives trade processing from general accounting perspective.
Investment accounting and/or fund accounting experience is a plus.
Experience in working on Agile methodology projects
Java coding experience
