Job Overview
An Electrical Engineer specializing in 33kV line construction is responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of electrical distribution projects, from planning and material procurement to execution, commissioning, and quality assurance. This role ensures that all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while adhering to technical standards, regulations, and quality benchmarks.
The Electrical Engineer acts as a technical leader on-site and off-site, coordinating with contractors, clients, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution. This position is ideal for individuals who are technically proficient, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution

Develop detailed project plans for 33kV line construction, including timelines, resources, and milestones.

Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and technical assessments before project initiation.

Monitor day-to-day construction activities to ensure adherence to project schedules.

Coordinate with design and engineering teams to implement technical solutions effectively.
2. Material Procurement & Resource Management

Identify and procure required materials, tools, and equipment for project execution.

Ensure timely availability of materials to prevent delays in construction.

Track inventory usage and maintain records of material consumption and procurement.

Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate terms and ensure quality compliance.
3. Site Supervision

Oversee on-site teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of construction activities.

Monitor installation of poles, transformers, conductors, insulators, and other electrical components.

Ensure adherence to technical specifications, design drawings, and safety protocols.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality standards.
4. Testing & Commissioning

Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for 33kV lines, equipment, and related systems.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation and testing.

Prepare and maintain detailed testing and commissioning reports.

Ensure all testing activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
5. Quality Control & Safety Compliance

Implement quality assurance procedures across all stages of project execution.

Ensure adherence to national and international electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, IS).

Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with electrical safety protocols.

Train site staff and contractors on safe working practices and emergency procedures.
6. Coordination & Documentation

Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth workflow.

Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, material usage, and technical reports.

Prepare project documentation for regulatory approvals, inspections, and audits.

Facilitate communication between all stakeholders to address issues proactively.
7. Progress Reporting

Prepare regular progress reports for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps.

Track project milestones and provide updates on schedule adherence, budget utilization, and resource allocation.

Recommend corrective actions in case of delays, resource constraints, or technical issues.

Present reports to clients and management in a clear, structured format.
