Job Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment across a variety of projects. The Electrical Engineer will ensure that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
This role requires a solid understanding of electrical principles, project management, safety protocols, and collaboration across disciplines. The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the full project lifecycle—from planning and design to commissioning and maintenance—while working with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design:

Design electrical systems and layouts for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, panel board schedules, wiring layouts, and schematics.

Select appropriate components, materials, and equipment based on project needs, standards, and cost-effectiveness.

Utilize design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Dialux, and Revit MEP.

Installation and Commissioning:

Supervise the installation of electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, panels, wiring, lighting, earthing, and conduits.

Ensure the electrical installation work aligns with approved drawings and specifications.

Conduct pre-commissioning checks, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment before system handover.

Liaise with contractors and technicians to ensure that installation standards are met.

Testing and Maintenance:

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

Conduct electrical testing procedures such as insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, loop impedance testing, and earth fault loop testing.

Identify system failures, troubleshoot faults, and implement corrective actions promptly.

Prepare maintenance logs and inspection reports.

Project Coordination and Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, architects, and consultants to ensure integrated system design.

Attend project meetings, site inspections, and coordination sessions.

Review and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).

Coordinate with procurement and logistics for timely delivery of electrical components and materials.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all electrical work complies with local and international safety standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, IS standards).

Implement electrical safety protocols and conduct risk assessments for job sites.

Ensure all equipment is properly grounded and protected against overcurrents and short circuits.

Support the implementation of energy efficiency and sustainable engineering practices where applicable.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation for approvals and records.

Maintain updated as-built drawings, test certificates, and project documentation.

Provide updates on project progress, issues, and resolution plans to the project manager or engineering head.

Assist in preparing cost estimates, technical proposals, and project budgets.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor and ensure the quality of materials and workmanship on site.

Conduct inspections during and after installation to ensure adherence to project requirements.

Address quality non-conformities and initiate corrective measures in collaboration with the quality team.
