Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a solid background in manufacturing environments to join our plant operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all electrical systems across the plant, including maintenance and troubleshooting of production machinery, power distribution systems, and support infrastructure.
This role is hands-on and requires a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems, safety protocols, and automation controls. Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is a strong advantage. The position is vital for ensuring continuous plant operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Electrical Management

Oversee the electrical systems across the manufacturing plant, including lighting, power distribution, control systems, and emergency power.

Ensure uninterrupted electrical supply to all equipment and areas of the facility.

Monitor electrical load distribution and optimize energy usage for efficiency and cost savings.
2. Machinery & Equipment Handling

Take ownership of the electrical aspects of all machinery and production lines.

Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to reduce equipment downtime.

Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production supervisors, and machine operators to resolve electrical faults in machinery and equipment.

Plan and execute scheduled shutdowns and maintenance in coordination with the production team.
3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant electrical systems and components.

Identify potential electrical issues before they lead to equipment failure using predictive maintenance tools and techniques.

Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and failure analysis.
4. Automation and PLC Systems

Provide technical support for PLC-based automation systems used in the plant.

Troubleshoot issues related to PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems.

Make necessary modifications in PLC programs for new machinery or process changes (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).

Work with automation engineers and vendors for upgrades, testing, and commissioning of control systems.
5. Compliance & Safety

Ensure that all electrical installations and operations comply with national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

Implement and promote best practices in electrical safety, including lockout/tagout procedures and use of proper PPE.

Conduct regular safety audits and participate in plant safety committees.
6. Project Management

Assist in planning and execution of electrical engineering projects such as new equipment installation, plant expansion, or electrical system upgrades.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Evaluate and recommend improvements for electrical processes and control systems.
7. Inventory & Documentation
-
Maintain an inventory of electrical spares, tools, and consumables necessary for plant operations.

Keep accurate records of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts.

Update and maintain PLC program backups, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Diploma holders with strong experience may also be considered.

Minimum years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setup.

Strong understanding of electrical circuits, motors, drives, transformers, and switchgear.

Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical systems and production machinery.

Knowledge of industrial automation, PLC programming, and control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, etc.).

Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings.

Familiarity with energy management systems and industrial safety standards.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
