Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining electrical systems and components to required specifications. This includes ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability standards.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in project planning, execution, system diagnostics, maintenance scheduling, and electrical troubleshooting across various engineering domains such as power systems, automation, HVAC, energy distribution, or industrial control systems, depending on the organization’s industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development

Design electrical systems, layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel boards using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).

Develop control panel designs, cable schedules, single-line diagrams (SLD), and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for new installations and upgrades.

Select appropriate electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, relays, and drives based on project requirements.
2. Project Execution & Installation

Supervise electrical installation, wiring, cabling, and commissioning of electrical equipment on-site.

Ensure that installations comply with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, IS standards).

Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams for cross-functional execution of industrial or commercial projects.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical systems in plants, buildings, or machinery.

Diagnose electrical malfunctions, carry out root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.

Use electrical testing tools and instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and thermal scanners.
4. Power & Energy Management

Monitor electrical energy consumption and suggest measures for energy savings and load optimization.

Design and implement power factor improvement systems using capacitor banks and APFC panels.

Ensure reliable power supply and backup systems using UPS, diesel generators, and solar or renewable sources where applicable.
5. Safety, Compliance & Documentation

Ensure strict adherence to workplace electrical safety standards such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and earthing protocols.

Maintain records for inspections, equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and compliance audits.

Participate in statutory inspections and obtain necessary approvals from authorities like CEIG, DISCOMs, and electrical inspectors.
6. Vendor & Client Coordination

Liaise with contractors, vendors, suppliers, and consultants for procurement, installation, and servicing of electrical systems.

Evaluate vendor quotations, compare specifications, and assist in vendor selection and negotiations.

Interface with clients for requirement gathering, progress reporting, and final handover of projects.
7. Team Collaboration and Reporting

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil engineers, project managers, and procurement departments.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on project status, site progress, and issue tracking.

Provide technical support and mentorship to junior electrical technicians and trainees.
