2. Breakdown Analysis and Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose root causes using tools such as fishbone diagrams, 5-Why analysis, or fault-tree analysis.

  • Document breakdown history, action taken, root cause, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Prepare Monthly Breakdown Analysis Reports for management review, with suggestions to reduce repeat issues.

3. Daily Route Card and Shift Monitoring:

  • Maintain a Daily Route Card to record checks conducted across machines and utilities.

  • Track the health of motors, control panels, drives, PLCs, sensors, compressors, and lighting systems.

  • Ensure logbooks are maintained and signed for each shift’s observations and activities.

  • Conduct daily start-up checks and shutdown procedures according to SOPs.

4. Monthly Maintenance Schedule:

  • Create and implement a Monthly Maintenance Plan in line with machine manufacturers’ recommendations and production schedules.

  • Coordinate with the production team to plan downtime windows for preventive and predictive maintenance.

  • Review maintenance KPIs such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and maintenance cost per machine.

5. Coordination with the Production Team:

  • Work closely with production supervisors and operators to understand machine-related complaints or irregularities.

  • Align maintenance work with production planning to minimize interference and ensure operational continuity.

  • Provide feedback on machine condition and recommend changes to enhance performance and reduce energy consumption.

6. Shift Roster Management:

  • Develop and manage a shift roster for the electrical maintenance team ensuring 24/7 support if required.

  • Ensure the availability of technically competent personnel during each shift.

  • Monitor shift activities, guide junior engineers/technicians, and provide technical support when required.

7. Coordination with Power and EB Team:

  • Monitor plant power supply and load distribution.

  • Coordinate with the Electricity Board (EB) for metering, billing, outages, and compliance issues.

  • Supervise DG sets, transformers, power factor panels, UPS, and backup systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

  • Ensure power factor correction systems and EB demand limits are within prescribed norms.

8. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities—both planned and unplanned.
