Job Description

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE 2-7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE OIL & GAS SECTOR.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Installation:

Install electrical systems and components, including wiring, lighting, control panels, circuit breakers, and transformers, in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to determine layout and installation requirements.
Ensure all electrical installations are performed accurately and according to the company’s specifications and local codes.

2. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:

Perform regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential problems or signs of wear and tear.
Carry out preventive maintenance activities to ensure electrical systems operate efficiently and minimize downtime.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults in equipment, circuits, motors, generators, and electrical panels.
Test electrical systems, including circuit breakers and transformers, using specialized tools and instruments.
Replace worn-out or damaged components such as wires, switches, or control units.

3. Troubleshooting and Repair:

Troubleshoot electrical faults using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and circuit testers.
Analyze and resolve issues related to malfunctioning electrical components, wiring, and control systems.
Identify root causes of electrical issues and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
Ensure all repairs are done safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to operations.

4. Safety and Compliance:

Follow strict safety protocols and industry regulations when working with electrical systems and equipment.
Adhere to electrical codes, standards, and local building regulations to ensure all work complies with safety and quality requirements.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety shoes, and helmets when working in hazardous environments.
Ensure the work environment is safe, organized, and free from electrical hazards, such as exposed wires or faulty grounding.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Complete maintenance logs and report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor or management.
Provide detailed reports on completed repairs, inspections, or system installations.
Document all preventive maintenance schedules and work orders in the company’s management systems.

6. Equipment and Tools Management:

Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and in working order.
Maintain inventory of electrical components, materials, and supplies, notifying the supervisor when stock levels are low.
Safely handle electrical tools and equipment, ensuring that they are stored securely and appropriately after use.

7. Collaboration with Other Departments:

Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Collaborate with other technicians and professionals on larger projects, providing electrical expertise and support.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems, including integration with other departments’ equipment and machinery.

8. Emergency Response:

Be available to respond to electrical emergencies outside of regular working hours, including weekends or holidays, as required.
Quickly identify, assess, and resolve electrical emergencies such as power outages, electrical fires, or equipment failure.
Assist in restoring power or equipment functionality as quickly as possible, minimizing operational downtime.
