Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our technical and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role requires a good understanding of electrical circuits, safety protocols, wiring layouts, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications. The electrician should also be able to work independently and in coordination with other technicians, engineers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation of Electrical Systems:

Install new electrical systems and wiring in buildings, including conduit, cable trays, wiring, switches, sockets, distribution boards, and lighting systems.

Set up electrical control systems, panel boards, and earthing systems according to the required standards and codes.

Ensure all installations are done as per the blueprint, circuit diagram, or building plan provided by engineers or consultants.

Install and configure equipment like motors, fans, transformers, UPS systems, power outlets, emergency lighting, and generators.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as multimeters and insulation resistance testers.
2. Electrical Maintenance:

Conduct preventive and routine maintenance of electrical systems, machines, and equipment.

Inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring, for faults or signs of damage.

Replace worn-out or defective wiring, fuses, light bulbs, switches, and other electrical components.

Maintain power distribution systems, including main panels, subpanels, MCBs, MCCBs, and ELCBs.

Lubricate and maintain motors, fans, pumps, and other equipment as part of routine maintenance.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

Diagnose and repair electrical faults in circuits, switches, distribution panels, or equipment.

Identify causes of electrical failures, including overloads, short circuits, or insulation breakdowns.

Use electrical testing tools and instruments to analyze problems and repair systems efficiently and safely.

Work under pressure in breakdown scenarios, ensuring quick and safe restoration of power or functionality.

Maintain detailed records of issues found, repairs carried out, and parts used.
4. Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all electrical work complies with national electrical codes, safety standards, and internal company policies.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling live circuits or working in high-voltage areas.

Install safety devices such as circuit breakers, surge protection systems, and grounding systems.

Participate in internal safety training and toolbox talks to stay updated on safe work practices.

Isolate power sources safely before beginning any repair or modification work.
5. Documentation and Coordination:

Maintain logs of daily work, maintenance reports, and breakdown incident reports.

Keep an inventory of tools, spare parts, and materials used or needed for jobs.

Coordinate with supervisors, facility managers, engineers, and third-party vendors for complex installations or repairs.

Assist in planning electrical layouts for new projects or renovations.

Interpret electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and installation guides provided by engineers or consultants.
6. Upgrades and Energy Efficiency:

Recommend and install energy-efficient lighting, power-saving devices, and automation systems.

Support upgrading of outdated electrical panels or wiring to meet modern load requirements.

Install and integrate smart electrical systems, such as timers, motion sensors, or smart meters, where applicable.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
-
ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Licensed electrician certification preferred.

Minimum hands-on experience in electrical installation and maintenance work.

Experience working with both single-phase and three-phase systems.
-
Good knowledge of wiring standards, circuit protection, load balancing, and fault-finding.
Essential Skills:

Excellent practical skills and dexterity.

Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and codes.

Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and wiring schematics.

Familiarity with tools such as voltage testers, clamp meters, insulation testers, drills, and crimping tools.

Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, or automation systems is a plus.

Good time management and organizational skills.

Clear communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
