Electronic technician
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Setup:

Assemble, install, and test electronic systems or components according to technical manuals and circuit diagrams.

Set up and configure electronic control systems for machines or equipment.

Calibrate and adjust system settings to meet operational specifications.
-
Support the installation of wiring, panels, and electrical components in machinery, buildings, or vehicles.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
-
Perform regular maintenance checks on electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electronic circuits, PCBs, control panels, or sensors.

Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, soldering equipment, and testing instruments.

Keep detailed records of repair activities and preventive maintenance schedules.
3. Testing and Quality Control:
-
Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools to test electronic systems.
-
Conduct final inspection and functional testing of electronics before deployment or delivery.

Document findings and work closely with the quality control team to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
4. Documentation and Reporting:

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.

Maintain logs of completed work, test results, repairs, and parts used.

Create or update service manuals, equipment logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Report repeated issues or design flaws to engineers or design teams for process improvement.
5. Safety and Compliance:
-
Follow all safety protocols and electrical safety standards (such as ESD protection).

Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems, and relevant industry regulations.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area, tools, and equipment.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with faulty wiring, circuits, or electronic hazards.
6. Team Support and Collaboration:

Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to resolve complex issues.

Assist with training new technicians or apprentices as required.
-
Support cross-functional projects and testing of new products or prototypes.

Provide technical support to field teams, clients, or production staff when needed.
