Job Description
Job Summary:
The Engineer Technical Support (NOC) plays a critical role in providing round-the-clock monitoring and support for network infrastructure, field service coordination, and service delivery management. This role involves troubleshooting routers, switches, DSL lines, and other access equipment; managing incident tickets; and ensuring timely link delivery through coordination with ISPs, LCOs, and telcos.
The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to operate efficiently in a high-pressure, 24/7 support environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. NOC Operations & Technical Troubleshooting:

Monitor network infrastructure, alarms, and system performance using NMS tools.

Handle incoming technical support requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
-
Routers (Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, etc.)
-
Switches (L2/L3)
-
DSL/broadband/FTTH setup and configuration
-
VPNs, IP conflicts, link drops, or degraded network performance
-
-
Escalate unresolved incidents to L2/L3 teams and track them through resolution.
-
Maintain incident and change management logs with full resolution details.
2. 24x7 Shift Coverage:
-
Work in rotating shifts (day/night/holidays/weekends) as part of the NOC team.

Maintain consistent shift handover notes to ensure continuity across teams.
-
Remain available for priority or emergency incident escalations during shifts.
3. Router/Switch/DSL Configuration:
-
Perform initial configuration, reset, or updates on CPE devices like routers and DSL modems.
-
Guide field teams or end users over the phone to set up or troubleshoot their devices.
-
Perform firmware upgrades and remote reconfiguration as needed.
-
Maintain a record of MAC addresses, IP assignments, access credentials, and topology maps.
4. Coordination with Field Teams and ISPs:

Liaise with Telcos/ISPs/Local Cable Operators (LCOs/LSOs) to:

Check for feasibility of new circuit delivery

Follow up on order confirmations
-
Confirm service availability at client locations
-
Ensure timely deployment and activation of links as per SLA

Log and track tickets raised to providers for line faults, latency, or downtime.

Coordinate field technician visits for last-mile issues or customer site checks.
5. Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive logs of incident tickets, resolutions, and escalations.

Document standard procedures for common issues (SOPs, KB articles).

Generate daily/weekly uptime, latency, and performance reports.

Track link delivery timelines and update service delivery dashboards accordingly.
6. Customer & Internal Communication:

Provide regular updates to clients on ticket status or link delivery progress.
-
Respond professionally to service inquiries or complaints with accurate information.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders like sales, provisioning, and implementation teams.
