CMT India , APAC engineering division of CMT, is looking for outstanding engineering students with strong software development backgrounds who are ready to make an impact on millions, if not billions, of users.
If you enjoy dealing with complex thread interactions and solving problems in resource-poor (low storage, limited energy source, limited CPU) environments, then this role is for you. CMT is seeking software engineers interested in enhancing the mobile and web application platforms providing their customers' the 'Drivewell' experience. The suite of Drivewell products are responsible for (a) collecting and processing data from on-phone and external sensors, (b) detecting when trips occur, and (c) reliably transmitting the data to our telematics analysis platform (d) Applications that display, consume and integrate driving analytics with business context.

Cambridge Mobile Telematics' (CMT) mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. Since its first product launch in 2012 that pioneered mobile usage-based insurance, CMT has become the world’s leading telematics and analytics provider for insurers, rideshares, and fleets. CMT’s DriveWell platform uses mobile sensing and behavioral science to measure driving risk and incentivize safer driving, while its Claims Studio reduces the claims cycle time with real-time crash detection, crash reconstruction, and damage assessment using telematics and artificial intelligence. CMT has over 50 active programs with insurers and other partners, improving safety for millions of drivers every day around the world. Responsibilities
- Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Write well-designed, testable code
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
- Document and maintain software functionality
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
- Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
- Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
- Build algorithms and prototypes
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Have a solid understanding of algorithm complexity
- Be proficient in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, and Swift
- Be proficient in Unix/Linux
- Have strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Have strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- No prior experience in mobile development is required!
- solid understanding of client/server architectures, operating system concepts, and distributed systems
- Familiar with source control systems such as git, hg, svn
- Familiar with the software development lifecycle
