Estimation and Billing Engineer - Electrical – Job Profile (2-3 Years Experience in Construction Industry)

Job Overview:

An Estimation and Billing Engineer - Electrical with 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry is responsible for preparing cost estimates, managing project budgets, and handling billing processes for electrical works. The role requires coordination with project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure cost-effective execution and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation:

Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare cost estimates.
Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on material take-offs and labor requirements.
Conduct rate analysis for electrical works, including wiring, cabling, lighting, and power distribution.
Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations for electrical materials and services.
Assist in tender preparation and bid submissions.

2. Billing & Measurement Verification:

Prepare Running Account (RA) Bills and Final Bills for contractors and subcontractors.
Verify measurements of completed works at site for accurate billing.
Coordinate with site engineers for progress verification and approval of invoices.
Maintain records of material usage and labor costs.

3. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring:

Track budget vs. actual costs and identify cost variances.
Implement cost-saving measures and avoid wastage of electrical materials.
Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure financial efficiency.

4. Coordination & Documentation:

Work closely with procurement and purchase teams to ensure cost-effective material sourcing.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and construction regulations.
Prepare reports on cost estimates, billing status, and material consumption.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors for smooth financial operations.

Skills Required:

✅ Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring systems, and power distribution.
✅ Proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and rate analysis.
✅ Experience in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and ERP software (SAP/Primavera preferred).
✅ Ability to read electrical drawings and tender documents.
✅ Good understanding of contract terms and billing procedures.
✅ Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
