Job Description
- Preparation of surgical instruments, linen, anaesthetic articles, drugs and necessary sutures.
- Check all gases, suction, and all other supportive equipment to be ready.
- Check and receive with all reports, records
- Necessary cleaning to be done to get ready for next case using disinfectant.
Required Skills:
- Nursing and empathy towards the patient
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Support:
-
Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and other specialized treatments.

Hand instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures in an efficient and anticipatory manner.
-
Prepare patients for treatment by seating them comfortably, draping them, and explaining procedures to reduce anxiety.

Sterilize and disinfect instruments, treatment rooms, and dental equipment according to established protocols.
-
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) under the direction of the dentist.

Ensure all instruments and supplies are readily available during procedures to avoid delays.
2. Patient Care:
-
Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner.

Obtain and record patients’ medical history, dental history, and vital signs prior to procedures.
-
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care instructions as directed by the dentist.
-
Assist with educating patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive dental care practices.
-
Monitor patients during procedures for signs of discomfort or complications, and provide reassurance as needed.
3. Infection Control & Safety Compliance:
-
Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of disease or contamination.
-
Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

Dispose of medical waste and sharps properly, adhering to regulatory requirements.
-
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in the clinical area.

Ensure that all instruments are properly sterilized and stored for future use.
4. Administrative Duties:
-
Schedule and confirm patient appointments through phone calls, text reminders, or emails.
-
Maintain accurate patient records, treatment logs, and documentation of clinical procedures.
-
Handle billing, insurance verification, and payment collection when necessary.

Order and monitor dental supplies and materials to ensure availability and avoid shortages.
-
Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries about services, appointments, and patient concerns.
5. Equipment Management:
-
Monitor and operate dental equipment, including suction devices, X-ray machines, sterilizers, and impression trays.

Report malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
-
Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly before and after each use.
-
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of dental equipment when required.
