A Field Collection Executive is responsible for visiting customers in person to collect pending payments, resolve dues, and ensure timely recovery of outstanding amounts. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of an organization by minimizing bad debts and ensuring steady cash flow. The position demands excellent communication skills, negotiation ability, and persistence, along with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working on the field, interacting directly with customers, and handling sensitive financial matters with tact and discipline.
Key Responsibilities

Collection of Payments

Visit customers at their residences, offices, or business locations to collect overdue payments.

Follow up on outstanding dues as per the company’s collection policies.

Ensure timely recovery of EMIs, loan repayments, credit card bills, or other financial obligations.

Customer Interaction & Negotiation

Communicate politely yet firmly with customers to remind them of their payment obligations.

Negotiate repayment schedules or settlements within the company’s guidelines.

Handle objections, disputes, or grievances professionally to maintain customer relationships.

Documentation & Reporting

Collect and submit receipts for payments received from customers.

Maintain detailed records of collection visits, customer commitments, and outcomes.

Prepare and share daily/weekly collection reports with the reporting manager.

Compliance & Process Adherence

Follow company policies and legal guidelines while handling overdue accounts.

Ensure customer data confidentiality and avoid any unethical collection practices.

Escalate chronic defaulters or fraud cases to the concerned department.

Field Activities

Plan and execute daily field visits as per assigned routes or customer lists.

Coordinate with the back-office team for updated lists of overdue accounts.

Use mobile apps, collection software, or GPS tracking tools as required by the organization.

Skills and Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Negotiation and persuasion ability to handle tough situations.

Good knowledge of local geography and ability to travel extensively.
