Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Transporting Goods and Equipment:
Drive company vehicles to deliver goods, equipment, or materials to customers, job sites, or designated locations in a timely and safe manner. Ensure goods are loaded properly, ensuring safety during transportation.
Passenger Transport (if applicable):
Drive staff or clients to different locations as needed, ensuring comfort, safety, and punctuality.
Route Planning and Navigation:
Plan and follow efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel costs. Use GPS devices or maps to navigate unfamiliar routes. Ensure routes are followed accurately and report any significant delays to the supervisor.
Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections:
Conduct regular vehicle checks before and after trips, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or damages to the supervisor immediately. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
Documenting Deliveries and Logs:
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and any incidents that occur during trips. Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, vehicle logbooks, and time logs.
Compliance with Safety Regulations:
Follow all road safety regulations and company policies. Ensure that the vehicle is driven in a safe manner, with consideration for other drivers and road conditions. Abide by traffic laws and any company-specific driving guidelines.
Customer Interaction:
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries. Assist with unloading goods and ensure that the customer receives their items in good condition. Address any customer concerns in a polite and professional manner.
Assisting with Loading/Unloading (if required):
Depending on the nature of the goods being transported, assist in the loading and unloading of goods or materials from the vehicle. Ensure proper handling to avoid damage to items.
Reporting Incidents or Delays:
In case of any accidents, delays, or disruptions, report to the supervisor immediately. Complete necessary paperwork or reports related to accidents or other significant events.
Adherence to Schedules:
Stick to delivery schedules and timelines to ensure on-time arrivals. Communicate with team members or supervisors if delays are anticipated.
