Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Field Sales Executive specializing in the sales of paddy seeds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting, demonstrating, and selling high-quality paddy seeds to both retail seed and fertilizer shops and directly to farmers. This role involves extensive fieldwork including visiting dealers, distributors, retailers, and farmers in rural and semi-urban areas, providing technical guidance to farmers on best practices in paddy cultivation, ensuring timely supply and payment collection, and coordinating between the company and various stakeholders in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Marketing of Paddy Seeds:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for paddy seed products within the assigned territory.

  • Promote the company’s seed varieties by educating and persuading dealers, retailers, and farmers about the benefits and yield potential of the products.

  • Identify and approach new dealers, agri-input shops, and direct customers (farmers) to expand the customer base.

  • Conduct field promotions, demonstrations, and campaigns to generate awareness about seed quality, yield, disease resistance, and other advantages.

2. Field Visits and Farmer Interaction:

  • Conduct regular field visits to meet farmers and agricultural input shops.

  • Build strong relationships with farmers to create demand for the company's paddy seeds and allied agri-inputs.

  • Guide farmers on proper cultivation practices, sowing techniques, fertilization schedules, irrigation management, and pest and disease control.

  • Help farmers understand the unique characteristics and benefits of using the company's paddy seed varieties.

  • Collect data from the fields to observe seed performance and provide feedback to R&D or production teams.

3. Product Knowledge and Technical Support:

  • Provide detailed technical advice and guidance to both dealers and farmers regarding:

    • Sowing time and method

    • Suitable agro-climatic conditions

    • Seed treatment

    • Fertilizer schedules and quantities

    • Recommended pesticide use

    • Harvesting and storage tips

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and scientific developments in paddy farming to advise farmers effectively.

4. Coordination with Dealers, Retailers, and Company:

  • Act as a link between the company and the dealers/retailers ensuring timely communication regarding pricing, promotions, availability, and logistics.

  • Ensure timely order placement by dealers and shops, assist them with stock planning based on demand forecast.

  • Provide support to ensure smooth delivery and inventory management.

  • Handle grievances and resolve issues related to product quality, availability, or customer dissatisfaction.

  • Collect feedback and market intelligence to report back to management for continuous improvement.

5. Payment Collection and Documentation:

  • Ensure timely payment collection from dealers, retailers, and customers as per company credit policies.

  • Maintain proper documentation of orders, invoices, payment receipts, and farmer feedback.

  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to sales performance, field activities, and market trends.

  • Maintain records of field visits, customer interactions, crop progress reports, and competitor activities.

6. Promotional Activities and Demonstration Plots:

  • Plan and execute promotional events such as farmer meetings, field days, and seed demo plot visits.

  • Organize and manage demonstration plots with selected farmers to showcase the performance of paddy seeds under real-world conditions.

  • Capture and analyze crop growth stages, plant health, and yield comparisons for reporting and further marketing activities.
