Field Service Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our various products and equipment directly at customer’s sites.
Field Service Engineer responsibilities include diagnosing technical problems, performing effective repairs, and providing regular service maintenance.
They should be able to communicate and explain complex technical information to non-technical customers in an understandable way.
The role of the Field Service Engineer is to ensure customer satisfaction through the high-quality service and efficient problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning:

Install new equipment, machinery, or systems at customer locations as per manufacturer specifications.

Conduct initial system tests and calibrations to ensure proper functionality.

Provide training to users or maintenance teams on equipment usage and safety guidelines.
2. Maintenance and Servicing:

Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) to minimize equipment downtime.

Inspect and replace worn-out components, lubricate moving parts, and perform diagnostic tests.

Maintain detailed service logs and maintenance records.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

Respond to service calls and resolve equipment breakdowns or malfunctions on-site.

Diagnose technical issues using specialized tools, software, and diagnostic procedures.

Repair, upgrade, or adjust equipment to restore full functionality.
4. Technical Support and Customer Service:

Provide technical support and guidance to customers, operators, or local maintenance teams.

Address customer concerns professionally and ensure high satisfaction with service quality.

Educate clients on proper equipment usage to prevent misuse and future issues.
5. Documentation and Reporting:

Create detailed service reports including diagnostics performed, actions taken, and parts used.

Record customer feedback and report any recurring issues to the engineering or product team.

Maintain accurate records of travel, time spent, and inventory used during service visits.
6. Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures during site visits.

Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards when working on-site.

Follow EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines and use PPE as required.
7. Inventory and Tools Management:

Manage service tools, spare parts, and consumables assigned for field use.

Requisition replacement parts in a timely manner to minimize service delays.

Maintain tools and testing equipment in good working condition.
8. Continuous Learning and Development:

Stay up to date with the latest product features, updates, and technical specifications.

Participate in internal training programs and certifications as required by the company.

Provide feedback to R&D or product design teams to improve equipment reliability and user experience.
