Field Service Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team, specializing in inverter battery service and solar installation. The candidate will be responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, and servicing of inverter systems, batteries, and solar panels at residential, commercial, or small industrial client locations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience or training in electrical systems, be willing to travel within assigned areas, and possess strong troubleshooting skills. This is a field-based role that offers an excellent opportunity for freshers or early-career technicians looking to build their expertise in the rapidly growing solar and power backup industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning:

Install and commission solar power systems, inverters, and batteries as per company guidelines and technical specifications.

Conduct site assessments to determine suitable installation locations for solar panels and inverters.

Mount and wire solar panels, connect inverters, and integrate battery backup systems with existing electrical infrastructure.

Ensure all installations comply with safety and quality standards.
2. Service and Maintenance:

Visit customer locations to perform routine maintenance and emergency servicing of inverter batteries and solar systems.

Diagnose faults in inverters, battery connections, charge controllers, and related electrical components.

Replace faulty batteries, fuses, cables, or damaged solar modules where necessary.

Provide preventive maintenance to avoid recurring issues and extend equipment life.
3. Customer Interaction and Support:

Interact with customers professionally and courteously during visits.

Educate customers on proper usage, maintenance tips, and safety precautions for solar and inverter systems.

Log service details, collect customer feedback, and report recurring issues to the service manager.

Provide demonstration or walkthrough of system operation to new customers after installation.
4. Documentation and Reporting:

Complete daily service reports, installation checklists, and warranty claim forms.

Maintain accurate records of equipment installed, spare parts used, and service history.

Submit reports and feedback to the service coordinator or technical lead as required.
5. Travel and On-Site Responsibility:

Travel to various customer locations using a personal two-wheeler or company vehicle (if provided).

Ensure timely arrival at service sites and complete assigned tasks within scheduled time.

Carry basic tools, spare parts, and safety gear while on the field.
Skills:

Basic knowledge of DC/AC wiring, battery connections, and electrical safety

Ability to read and interpret simple wiring diagrams and manuals

Good understanding of how inverters and solar systems operate

Hands-on skills in using hand tools and testing instruments (multimeters, clamp meters)

Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
