Field Service Technician
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Site Appliance Repair & Maintenance
-
Visit customer locations based on scheduled service calls.

Diagnose problems in appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves, air conditioners, etc.

Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, motors, heating elements, valves, sensors, circuit boards, etc.
-
Perform regular servicing tasks including cleaning filters, testing performance, and checking functionality.
2. Installation & Setup
-
Install home appliances as per brand specifications and customer requirements.
-
Ensure proper electrical, plumbing, and ventilation connections.
-
Test appliance functionality post-installation and guide customers on usage.
3. Customer Interaction & Support
-
Interact politely and professionally with customers at their premises.
-
Explain the issue and repair process in a simple and understandable manner.
-
Educate customers on appliance care, basic troubleshooting, and safety precautions.
-
Obtain customer signatures and feedback post-service completion.
4. Reporting & Documentation
-
Maintain accurate service records including type of service, parts used, time taken, and payment collected (if applicable).

Use service management software or manual job sheets to update service details.
-
Report recurring issues, defective parts, or customer complaints to the service manager.
5. Tools, Spare Parts & Safety
-
Carry and maintain service tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
-
Ensure safety compliance while working with electrical and mechanical components.
-
Follow all company protocols regarding hygiene, safety, and conduct at customer premises.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
-
ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
-
Sound understanding of appliance functionality and common fault scenarios
-
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components
-
Basic knowledge of electrical safety and precautionary measures
-
Good communication skills in Hindi and/or English; local language fluency is a plus
-
Willingness to travel locally and work on a flexible schedule (including weekends or holidays if needed)
