Position Overview
A Financial Consultant in the insurance sector is responsible for providing financial guidance to clients by assessing their needs, recommending suitable insurance and investment products, and ensuring long-term financial security. This role blends sales, advisory, and relationship management, requiring the consultant to not only sell policies but also guide customers in making informed financial decisions.
The consultant works closely with individuals, families, and sometimes businesses to help them protect their assets, plan for contingencies, and achieve financial goals. This position requires in-depth knowledge of insurance products, financial planning principles, and excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Acquisition & Relationship Building

Identify and approach potential customers through networking, referrals, cold calls, and marketing activities.

Develop and maintain a strong client base by building long-term relationships.

Understand customer needs, priorities, and life goals to recommend appropriate financial solutions.
2. Financial Needs Assessment

Conduct detailed financial assessments by analyzing the client’s income, expenses, debts, and existing insurance coverage.

Suggest insurance products such as life insurance, health insurance, retirement plans, term plans, and investment-linked policies.
3. Product Recommendation & Advisory

Recommend suitable insurance and investment products based on customer needs and financial capacity.

Explain product features, benefits, terms, and conditions in a clear and transparent manner.
4. Sales & Revenue Generation

Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for premium collections and new policy acquisitions.

Cross-sell and upsell insurance products to existing customers.
5. Policy Servicing & Claims Assistance

Assist clients in completing proposal forms, documentation, and premium payments.

Help customers in claim settlement processes, ensuring smooth and timely service.
6. Compliance & Record Keeping

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.

Adhere to regulatory guidelines and company policies regarding sales and customer interactions.
7. Continuous Learning

Stay updated with new insurance products, market trends, and regulatory changes.

Participate in training programs and certification courses to enhance product and financial advisory knowledge.
