Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm and Biometric Engineer to join our technical team. The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various fire alarm systems and biometric devices at client locations. A strong understanding of system wiring, device integration, panel programming, and network setup is essential.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with brands like Honeywell, Morley, Notifier (for fire alarms) and ESSL, ZKTeco, Matrix (for biometrics), along with basic knowledge of IP addressing, LAN/WAN configurations, and structured cabling.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Configuration
-
Install and configure fire alarm panels, detectors (smoke, heat, beam, multi-sensor), Hooters, MCPs, and power supply units at project sites

Set up and configure biometric devices including fingerprint scanners, facial recognition units, RFID readers, and access control panels

Connect and test sensors and actuators for proper functionality

Perform cable pulling, terminations, conduit installations, and device mounting
-
Integrate systems with networking infrastructure, ensuring stable communication
2. System Programming & Commissioning
-
Program fire alarm control panels (FACP) and configure zone mappings, sensor sensitivity, time delays, and logic functions
-
Configure biometric systems for attendance management or access control, including user enrollment, database setup, and shift scheduling

Conduct functional testing and ensure all devices are properly communicating and responding as per safety protocols

Interface fire alarm systems with BMS, HVAC, lifts, or other emergency systems where applicable
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform regular preventive maintenance of installed fire and biometric systems

Diagnose faults, replace faulty components, and restore system functionality
-
Address issues such as false alarms, sensor errors, communication failures, or unauthorized access

Maintain maintenance logs, incident reports, and service records for each site
4. Client Support & Documentation
-
Interact with facility managers, IT heads, and client engineers to understand requirements or resolve issues
-
Provide technical training to end-users or client-side IT/support staff on system usage and basic troubleshooting

Prepare and submit site reports, checklists, as-built drawings, and configuration backups
-
Follow all safety protocols, permit processes, and client-specific documentation requirements
Technical Skills:
Fire Alarm Systems:

Knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems

Familiarity with Honeywell, Morley, Notifier, Ravel, Siemens panels
-
Understanding of NFPA and IS fire safety codes (basic level)
Biometric & Access Control:
-
Hands-on with ESSL, ZKTeco, Matrix, Hikvision, or similar brands

Biometric device enrollment, IP configuration, firmware upgrade, software sync
-
Familiar with attendance management software, door control systems, and time logs
Networking:

Basic understanding of IP addressing, LAN configuration, switches, and routers

Experience in connecting devices to central servers, software platforms, and cloud dashboards
-
Ability to diagnose network issues like connection drop, DHCP conflicts, or IP duplication
Soft Skills & Competencies:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Good written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and reporting

Time management and ability to handle multiple site assignments

Ability to work independently or as part of a project team
