Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare ingredients and mise-en-place for dishes across Italian, Chinese, and Continental sections.

Cook and present dishes according to the recipe specifications and plating standards set by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

Execute a variety of dishes such as pasta, risottos, stir-fries, dumplings, soups, grills, sauces, and baked items.
-
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance in every dish served.

Follow portion control guidelines to reduce food waste and control food costs.
2. Support Kitchen Operations:

Assist senior chefs with preparation during busy service hours.
-
Support in setting up kitchen stations and ensuring timely execution of orders.

Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and service team for smooth operations.

Replenish station supplies and ingredients during and after the shift.
3. Hygiene, Safety, and Cleanliness:
-
Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
-
Ensure all food items are stored, labeled, and rotated properly according to HACCP and safety standards.

Adhere strictly to food safety guidelines, including personal hygiene, sanitation, and allergen management.

Dispose of waste and spoiled items promptly and appropriately.

Use protective equipment and maintain safety when handling knives, ovens, fryers, and other equipment.
4. Kitchen Inventory and Stock Management:

Assist in daily inventory checks and notify seniors about stock levels or requirements.

Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance issues immediately.

Minimize wastage of raw materials by careful preparation and portioning.

Help with receiving and organizing raw ingredients and supplies from vendors.
5. Continuous Learning and Skill Development:

Learn new cooking techniques, recipes, and plating methods as directed by the senior chefs.

Stay updated with the latest culinary trends in Italian, Chinese, and Continental cuisines.

Attend training sessions, tastings, and feedback reviews.

Seek feedback and continuously strive to improve cooking skills and speed.
