Job Description
Job Summary:
The Forex Officer - Junior Manager plays a crucial role in managing foreign exchange (forex) operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and supporting forex trading, hedging, and remittance services for clients and internal departments. Operating under the supervision of the Senior Forex or Treasury Manager, the officer helps in executing forex transactions, managing currency exposure, and offering forex-related advisory services to clients in line with the NBFC’s financial strategy.
The role requires an understanding of RBI guidelines, forex markets, international remittance systems, and risk management principles. It's ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, analytically strong, and have a sound grasp of global financial instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Forex Dealing and Execution

Execute forex transactions including spot, forward, and swap deals in line with client requests or internal treasury needs.

Ensure timely and accurate booking of foreign currency deals through authorized channels.

Monitor and track forex positions and currency exposure on a daily basis.
2. Client Servicing and Advisory

Provide forex rate quotes to clients (retail or corporate) based on real-time market rates.

Assist clients in executing outward and inward remittances via SWIFT or authorized digital platforms.

Offer advisory on currency risk, hedging options, and RBI-compliant forex products.
3. Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all forex transactions are compliant with FEMA, RBI, and AML guidelines.

Prepare and submit statutory reports such as FETERS, BEF, and SOFTEX as required.

Assist in preparing documentation and declarations required for forex transactions and remittances.
4. Risk Management and Controls

Track market fluctuations and currency risks to alert the treasury or risk team.

Support hedging operations by executing forward contracts, options, or swaps under supervision.

Monitor forex deal limits, counterparty exposure, and internal risk parameters.
5. Back Office and Reconciliation

Coordinate with the back-office team for settlement, confirmation, and reconciliation of forex deals.

Verify and match deal tickets, deal confirmations, and client instructions for accuracy.

Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all forex transactions for audit purposes.
6. Banking and Vendor Coordination

Liaise with authorized dealer banks (AD-I/AD-II) for execution and clearance of forex transactions.

Work with technology vendors or platforms offering forex and remittance services.

Ensure timely completion of KYC, UTR matching, and fund transfer activities.
7. Market Intelligence and Reporting

Keep track of forex market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments.

Generate reports on currency performance, client transactions, and FX profitability.

Present weekly/monthly reports to senior management with insights and performance summaries.
Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:

Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or related fields.

MBA in Finance or specialization in International Business is preferred.

Additional certifications like NISM Currency Derivatives, CTM (Certified Treasury Manager), or IIBF Forex Certification are desirable.
Experience:

2–3+ years of experience in forex operations, treasury back office, or remittance services in a bank, NBFC, or money exchange company.

Freshers with internship experience and strong academic credentials may be considered.
Technical Skills:

Knowledge of forex trading platforms (e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg, or MT4).

Familiarity with SWIFT systems and international remittance channels.

Proficiency in MS Excel, financial modeling, and MIS reporting tools.
Soft Skills:
