Job Summary:
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Freshers Trainee Power Plant Chemist to join our power plant operations team. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields to gain hands-on experience in the analysis and control of water and steam quality, fuel analysis, and emissions monitoring within a power generation environment.
As a Trainee Power Plant Chemist, you will assist senior chemists in maintaining optimal chemical conditions in boilers, turbines, and cooling systems, ensuring efficient plant performance and compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Water and Steam Quality Monitoring

Assist in sampling and testing boiler feed water, cooling water, condensate, and steam to measure parameters such as pH, hardness, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and chemical concentrations.

Use analytical instruments and chemical test kits for routine monitoring and quality control.

Help maintain chemical dosing systems to prevent scale, corrosion, and fouling inside plant equipment.
2. Fuel and Emissions Analysis

Support analysis of fuel samples (coal, oil, gas) to determine calorific value, moisture content, and impurities.

Assist in monitoring emissions and pollutants (such as SOx, NOx, particulate matter) to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Record and report test results accurately under supervision.
3. Laboratory Work

Prepare chemical reagents and standard solutions used for testing.

Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, including pH meters, spectrophotometers, and titration equipment.

Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
4. Documentation and Reporting

Document test procedures, results, and observations in logs or digital records.

Assist in preparing daily/weekly chemistry reports and communicate findings to the plant operations team.

Support documentation required for regulatory compliance audits.
5. Safety and Compliance

Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Participate in safety drills and training sessions.

Report any safety hazards or chemical spills promptly to supervisors.
6. Learning and Development

Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship programs to build technical skills and knowledge about power plant chemistry and operations.

Stay updated with industry best practices and environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
