Job Description

The dedicated and results-oriented individual will be producing concepts, making sketches by hand or on computer for garment designs per collection for provided theme, develop patterns, and oversee production.
Must be a good planner with organizational skills for developing clear, actionable, and measurable plans or priorities with minimal supervision.
Primary responsibility is to handle the end-to-end production of a collection (from conceptualization to final production of the garment).
May require assistance in photo-shoots.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

Development of trends, coloring, and fabric
Fashion trend forecasting
Developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervising the creation of these, including fitting, and detailing
Develop all technical specifications of the design
Select/source fabrics and patterns, embroidery supplies and works with artisans to get the embroidery done as per the design concept. Give instructions to other team members (such as tailors) on how to make the final garments.
Works on creating follow up samples and establishes modifications in the base patterns
Oversee the final production of the designs and ensure the translation is correct in all aspects
Maintains relevant records, reports, or files as mandated by the company
Sourcing to suggest new styles, products, fabric qualities, prints, trims, and accessories to incorporate in our seasonal collections both locally and internationally
Helps to grow the company through integrated and creative thinking

We are a start up fashion brand looking to hire a well-rounded part time designer/freelancer, someone who has working knowledge of latest embroideries, fabrics, draping, silhouettes, and ability to handle end-to-end production of a collection (from conceptualization to final production of the garment). Previous experience in a fashion house or work done with any designer is preferred. Ability to monitor the garment sample and final production process according to the original design and ensuring the translation is correct in all aspects is a must.
