Role name: Global Backbone Network Engineer

Number of years of experience:8 to 10+

Overall Job Duties and responsibilities:

• Monitor network health while coordinating maintenance/change efforts
• Interface with internal teams, customers, and partners
• Drive Backbone network architecture and implementation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives and timelines
• Troubleshoot internal/external connectivity issues
• Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing network management
• Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, routers, switches and firewalls
• Drive detailed definition of feature requirements through discussions with product managers and customers.
• A Positive "can do" attitude with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas and see them to fruition

Skill Requirements:

Must Have

Experience working large scale network environment and managing global networks

Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE, ISIS and/or OSPF

Experience with Juniper Mx Platform and Cisco

Experience in Network design, operations and troubleshooting methodologies

Nice to Have

Experience with one of the Public Cloud network Environments – AWS/Azure/GCP

Experience in ISP, peering and exchange, and large (IP) carrier networks.

Experience with white-box switches and network automation development

Scripting Experience preferably in Python

Bachelor’s in computer networks/Science or relevant technical field
