GTAW CS/SS ELECTRIC WELDER/SMAW CS/SS ARC WELDER (800 USD) PIPE FITTER (600 USD) SCAFFOLDER (450 USD)

Key Responsibilities

1. Welding Operations

GTAW (TIG) Welding Duties:
- Perform high-quality Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (also known as TIG welding) on carbon steel (CS) and stainless steel (SS) components.
- Use non-consumable tungsten electrodes and inert gas (usually argon) to ensure clean, precision welds, especially on thin materials or where aesthetics are important.
- Read and interpret detailed welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Ensure proper fusion of metals and minimal distortion while maintaining bead consistency.
SMAW (Stick) Welding Duties:
- Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick welding) using consumable electrodes to weld CS and SS materials.
- Commonly used in structural fabrication, pipelines, tanks, and field welding applications.
- Capable of performing vertical, horizontal, overhead, and flat position welds as per job requirement.
- Select appropriate welding rods (electrodes) based on material type and thickness.

2. Material Handling and Preparation

Clean, grind, and prepare base metals to ensure proper joint fit-up and weld penetration.
Identify and select appropriate filler materials and electrodes for different grades of CS and SS.
Set up welding machines according to job specifications and ensure proper amperage and voltage settings.
Perform tacking and fit-up tasks to ensure accurate alignment of workpieces before final welding.

3. Inspection and Quality Assurance

Inspect finished welds visually and dimensionally to ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, AWS D1.1, or client-specific standards).
Detect and correct weld defects such as porosity, undercut, cracks, and incomplete fusion.
Participate in non-destructive testing (NDT) processes such as radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and dye penetrant testing (DPT) as required.
Maintain welding quality logs and adhere to welding procedure specifications (WPS).

4. Safety and Compliance

Follow all relevant health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in industrial or construction environments.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, aprons, and safety boots at all times.
Work within confined spaces, at heights, or under challenging environmental conditions when required.
Ensure proper ventilation in the workspace to avoid inhalation of harmful fumes and gases.

5. Maintenance and Machine Care

Maintain welding machines, torches, cables, and gas cylinders in optimal working condition.
Troubleshoot minor issues with welding equipment and perform basic repairs or adjustments.
Store and handle materials, tools, and equipment according to company protocols and safety standards.
