Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Hardware and Networking Engineer to join our IT and engineering teams. This role combines expertise in hardware design and maintenance with strong skills in network infrastructure setup, administration, and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our organization’s hardware and network systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing servers, networking equipment, and end-user devices, along with a deep understanding of network protocols, hardware components, and IT best practices. You will collaborate across departments to support business operations and drive continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Management and Support:

Design, install, configure, and maintain physical hardware components including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Troubleshoot hardware issues, perform repairs or replacements, and ensure minimal downtime.

Manage hardware inventories and procure new equipment as necessary.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for hardware maintenance and support contracts.

Assist in designing and implementing hardware upgrades and migrations.
2. Network Design, Implementation, and Maintenance:

Design, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks (Wi-Fi), and virtual private networks (VPN).

Install and configure networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

Monitor network performance and implement optimization measures to ensure high availability and low latency.

Manage IP addressing, routing protocols, VLANs, and subnetting.

Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues and outages promptly.
3. Network Security and Compliance:

Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements related to IT security.

Respond to security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts.
4. System Integration and Collaboration:

Collaborate with system administrators, software engineers, and other IT staff to integrate hardware and networking solutions.

Support deployment of software applications and services by ensuring adequate network and hardware infrastructure.

Provide technical guidance and training to end-users and junior team members.

Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for internal use.
5. Monitoring, Backup, and Disaster Recovery:

Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify hardware and network issues.

Manage backup systems and ensure data integrity and availability.

Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize business disruption.

Participate in incident response and recovery activities.
