Job Description

Hardware and networking engineer is responsible for installing, modifying, and maintaining computer systems. They also comprehend and focus on the wiring and hardware requirements for the premises of their organizations or clients. They also protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hardware Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware failures, motherboard issues, and system malfunctions.
  • Ensure proper cabling and connectivity for IT infrastructure.

2. Network Configuration & Troubleshooting:

  • Set up and manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall security.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, and network servers.
  • Troubleshoot network outages, slow performance, and security vulnerabilities.

3. Security & Data Protection:

  • Implement firewalls, antivirus, and data encryption for network security.
  • Monitor network traffic and detect potential threats.
  • Assist in backup and disaster recovery planning.

4. IT Support & User Assistance:

  • Provide technical support to employees regarding hardware and network issues.
  • Assist in software installation, updates, and system configurations.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and IT inventory management.
