We are looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of embedded devices made by ORDAN. 

Your primary focus will be development of firmware applications and their interworking with Android and iOS phone applications, and a back-end server. Candidates must have a passion for pushing embedded technologies to the limits and be willing to work directly with the team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of products, as well as being extremely analytical and detail oriented.
Responsibilities• Design and build firmware for ORDAN’s products• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design new features.• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.• Work on bug fixing and improving performance.• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.• Maintain firmware codebase.• Implement requested features in firmware in coordination with phone application dev team.• Investigate defect reports, perform debugging and ensure correct functionality is achieved by providing code fixes.• Support creating rapid prototype solutions to facilitate testing and demonstration of new product concepts.• Participate in code reviews to ensure high quality of firmware.• Keep firmware code documentation up to date.• Report back any flaws in firmware, hardware or mechanical designs to the Company engineering team and suggest improvements.• Provide input for firmware development estimates.• Support the engineering team by providing estimates and feedback on feature requests• Develop test plans and execute testing for firmware code• Perform other job-related job duties as required competencies• B.Tech/BE/BS/M.Tech degree in ECE, Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject• Minimum of 1+ proven years’ experience in embedded software development using the C programming language• Experience using Bluetooth Low Energy module in an embedded context• Experience in designing and developing firmware code that interacts with iOS and Android apps• Experience in using source control and build systems• Experience in on-target debugging• Very good understanding of hardware/software interfaces, able to read electrical diagrams and hardware specifications and asses impact on software design• Good understanding of commonly used security algorithms and protocols, ability to design software with security built in• Excellent communications skills; interact with customers, suppliers, senior management and other team members professionally, in writing, in person, and virtually, as necessary• Ability to think and act independently as well as self-motivate• Working knowledge of the general embedded landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies• Solid understanding of the full embedded development life cycle• Deadline and detail-oriented with strong analytical/critical thinking skills
