Hardware Engineer
Job Description
The company is actively recruiting for hardware Engineer for HP and canon service centre (HP laptop and printer service engineer ) (canon printer service engineer ) customer support on field work.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- Key skills or technologies – hardware and software (printer and laptop hardware and drives troubleshooting and installation)
· Experience level - 1-3 years of experience for laptop engineer. More the 6 month experience for printer engineer, graduates with a strong practical foundation,
· Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently or in a team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Configuration
-
Install, configure, and test HP laptops, HP printers, and Canon printers for clients.

Set up drivers, firmware updates, and necessary software applications.

Integrate devices into existing networks for seamless functionality.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair
-
Diagnose hardware and software issues in HP laptops and printers.
-
Identify faults in Canon printers and perform necessary repairs or part replacements.
-
Troubleshoot connectivity, printing, scanning, and performance issues.
-
Replace faulty components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM, print heads, and rollers.
3. Preventive Maintenance
-
Conduct routine maintenance checks on customer equipment to ensure reliability.

Clean and lubricate mechanical parts to extend the life of devices.

Update drivers, perform system optimizations, and prevent recurring issues.
4. Field Service Support
-
Attend customer sites for installation, repair, and maintenance calls.

Respond to service requests promptly and resolve issues on the first visit whenever possible.

Provide on-site demonstrations and training to customers on device usage and care.
5. Customer Service & Communication
-
Interact professionally with customers, understanding their issues and explaining solutions clearly.

Provide guidance on equipment usage, safety precautions, and best practices.

Maintain a polite, professional, and customer-first attitude during all service calls.
6. Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain detailed service reports including issue diagnosis, repair work done, and parts replaced.

Track inventory of spare parts and request stock replenishment when needed.
-
Report recurring faults to the technical team for product improvement.
7. Coordination & Collaboration
-
Coordinate with service centre managers, supervisors, and vendors to ensure quick resolution of complex cases.

Collaborate with fellow engineers for knowledge sharing and technical updates.
-
Assist in warranty claim processing with manufacturers.
