Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Hatchery Operations Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the hatchery, including egg collection, storage, incubation, hatching, and the care of hatchlings. Ensure that all processes meet company standards and industry regulations. -
Incubation and Hatching Supervision:
Monitor and control the incubation process, adjusting temperature, humidity, and ventilation in incubators to ensure optimal conditions for egg development. Supervise hatching procedures and ensure the timely and efficient hatch of eggs. -
Team Leadership and Training:
Lead, manage, and supervise hatchery staff. Provide training and development opportunities to team members to ensure they are well-versed in hatchery protocols, safety standards, and equipment handling. -
Quality Control and Monitoring:
Conduct regular checks on egg quality, health of the hatchlings, and equipment functionality. Implement procedures to minimize hatchery losses, optimize hatch rates, and improve the overall quality of the output. -
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that the hatchery operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Enforce hygiene standards and cleanliness in the hatchery facility to prevent disease and ensure a safe working environment. -
Inventory Management:
Manage the inventory of hatching eggs, incubation equipment, and supplies such as incubator parts, disinfectants, and hatchling feed. Order and maintain sufficient stock levels to avoid interruptions in hatchery operations. -
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of egg batches, hatching success rates, hatchling health, and inventory levels. Prepare regular reports for upper management on hatchery performance, productivity, and any issues or challenges encountered. -
Maintenance of Hatchery Equipment:
Ensure that all hatchery equipment, including incubators, hatchers, and ventilation systems, are regularly serviced, cleaned, and maintained. Coordinate repairs or replacements of faulty equipment. -
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
Address and resolve any issues related to egg incubation, hatching processes, or the health of hatchlings. Identify potential problems early and implement corrective measures to maintain productivity and hatchery output. -
Continuous Improvement:
Monitor and evaluate hatchery performance continuously and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, hatch rates, and the overall quality of hatchlings. Implement best practices in hatchery operations to drive productivity.
